ADCQ announces Fair and Inclusive Queensland round tables

The Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland (ADCQ) is inviting all Queenslanders to be part of building a fair and inclusive Queensland. The ADCQ has today announced that they will host a series of round table events across Queensland in the coming months to discuss the statement: 'If there was one thing I would do to make Queensland more fair and inclusive it would be...'

The round table events are part of a wider celebration and recognition of the 20th anniversary of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. 'This milestone presents an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of the Act, but also to look forward and ask what more can be done to protect and promote the human rights of all Queenslanders' said Anti-Discrimination Commissioner Kevin Cocks.

'Human rights begin close to home and the preservation of these rights requires concerted citizen action. We’re not just asking what the government can do, or what ADCQ can do, but what every Queenslander can do to create an environment where human rights flourish' added the Commissioner.

A total of 18 round tables are planned in 16 locations across Queensland between 26 October and 9 December.

Details on the Fair and Inclusive Queensland round tables can be obtained from the ADCQ website , the event Facebook page or by phoning 1300 130 670.
